A generic reclassification of the Afrotropical Bolboceratini (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) Naturalis
Krikken, J..
The generic classification of the Afrotropical Bolboceratini is discussed. Fourteen genera are recognized, five of them new: Bolboceratellus, Bolbodius, Bolboceratex, Namibiobolbus and Meridiobolbus. Microbolbus Vulcano et al. is synonymized with Mimobolbus Vulcano et al. Bolbaffroides and Bolboceratops are raised to generic rank. The genera are keyed, diagnosed, and their species are listed. Many new combinations are proposed, mainly for species hitherto combined with Bolboceras Kirby.

A new genus and two new species of minute leptodactylid frogs from northern South America, with comments upon Phyzelaphryne (Amphibia: Anura: Leptodactylidae) Naturalis
Hoogmoed, M.S.; Lescure, J..
The synonymisation of Phyzelaphryne miriamae Heyer with Eleutherodactylus nigrovittatus Andersson is denied and it is shown that both species are quite distinct in numerous characters. A new genus (Adelophryne) of minute leptodactylid frogs with pointed discs on the toes and a distinctly reduced fourth finger, containing two new species (A. adiastola spec. nov. and A. gutturosa spec. nov.) is described from northern South America. A key to separate the diminutive leptodactylid frogs with pointed toetips is given. The relationships of the new genus are not clear, but possibly are with one of the species groups of Eleutherodactylus, of the subfamily Eleutherodactylinae.

An annotated key to the genera of Lauraceae in the flora Malesiana region Naturalis
Werff, Henk van der.
Lauraceae are an important component of wet tropical forests and are well represented in the Flora Malesiana region. Their identification has been hampered by two factors: several of the genera are poorly defined and existing keys require both flowers and fruits, which are, however, rarely present together on a specimen. Here a key based almost entirely on flowering specimens is presented, problems in generic delimitation are discussed and vegetative characters helpful in generic identification are listed.

Hydroids from the John Murray Expedtion to the Indian Ocean, with revisory notes on Hydrodendron, Abietinella, Cryptolaria and Zygophylax (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) Naturalis
Rees, W.J.; Vervoort, W..
Fourty-four species and one variety of hydroids were identified in the John Murray hydroid collection, obtained from the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea and the northern part of the Indian Ocean, largely from deep water localities. Of these 44 species 2 could be identified only to genus, 1 species is doubtfully mentioned and 5 are new to science. The 44 species we assigned to 2 families of athecate and 6 families of thecate hydroids. In many instances the species have been compared with the type material which, where necessary, was redescribed. A number of additional species, not represented in the John Murray collection has also been redescribed and/or figured. Practically all the John Murray hydroids are figured. Deposition of spirit-preserved type and...

Key to the genera of the Palaearctic Oxytorinae, with the description of three new genera (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) Naturalis
Rossem, G. van.
A revised key to the Palaearctic genera of the subfamily Oxytorinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) is given. Three new genera are described: Pantomima gen. nov. (type-species: Pantomima festata spec. nov.), Fetialis gen. nov. (type.-species: Fetialis alacris spec. nov.), and Epitropus gen. nov. (type-species: Epitropus insolitus spec. nov.). A tentative key to the females of the subgenus Eusterinx Förster, 1868 is included and one new species, Eusterinx (E.) fabulosa spec. nov., is described.

Report on the Hydroida collected by the "BALGIM" expedition in and around the Strait of Gibraltar Naturalis
Ramil, F.; Vervoort, W..
A total of 102 species and varieties of hydroids and three unidentifiable species are described or mentioned in the present report, which deals principally with hydroids collected in the IberoMoroccan Bay (and adjacent Atlantic), the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Alboran Sea; for revisionary purposes some additional, mainly Atlantic, material had to be included. The material described has been assigned to four families of athecate and 14 families of thecate hydroids. Nearly all species have been illustrated and a permanent slide collection has been made. Where necessary the material described has been compared with type material; ten new (sub)species are described, of which eight from the BALGIM material. Holotypes, and where necessary and/or possible...

Response paper: Morphometric article by Mejía et al. 2015 alluding genera Herichthys and Nosferatu displays serious inconsistencies Neotropical Ichthyology
Maza-Benignos,Mauricio de la; Lozano-Vilano,Ma. de Lourdes; García-Ramírez,María Elena.
ABSTRACT In the present response paper, the article entitled "Morphometric variation of the Herichthys bartoni (Bean, 1892) species group (Teleostei: Cichlidae): How many species comprise H. labridens (Pellegrin, 1903)?" by Mejía et al . 2015 is critically reviewed. The current review pinpoints some of the more conspicuous conceptual inconsistencies and fundamental errors found in the study by Mejía et al . (2015), It is contended that the authors fail to provide any new insights into the complex biogeography and evolutionary history of the Nosferatu and Herichthys genus groups, and that while results of their Cox1 molecular analysis are comparable to those by De la Maza-Benignos et al . (2015), the conclusions of the two studies are not comparable. In...

The scorpion families and their geographical distribution J. Venom. Anim. Toxins
LOURENÇO,W. R..
A synoptic table is proposed for the families and genera of scorpions currently regarded as valid. Because there is considerable disagreement about the classification of scorpions, many changes are to be expected in the future. The classification proposed here is followed by considerations regarding the geographical distribution of each family.

Urticaceae for the non-specialist: Identification in the Flora Malesiana region, Indochina and Thailand Naturalis
Wilmot-Dear, C.M..
Urticaceae comprises five tribes. Most specimens can be identified to tribe, many to genus, by the nonspecialist. Keys are provided to the tribes and to the genera within each tribe, based on the more easily observable diagnostic characters. Additional notes to each genus are also given.
